The St. Croix Falls area is located in the rolling hills and river valleys of northwestern Wisconsin and is easily accessible from Interstate 90/94 and other major state highways. The St. Croix Valley, as our area is often referred to, combines natural beauty, history, family entertainment and turns it into an experience that is relaxing and enjoyable.

The St. Croix Valley is fortunate to have four distinct seasons, with outdoor recreational activities that offer year round fun. Enjoy jogging, walking and biking on the Gandy Dancer trail or experience hiking, fishing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and much more.

Economic Development

Loans for industrial buildings

Industries looking to expand or build in Polk or Burnett county can qualify for below-market capital financing when they buy electricity from Polk-Burnett.

Financial packaging

Polk-Burnett assists community banks and industrial development corporations in putting together financial packages for new and expanding industries.

Grant money

Grants are available through the Wisconsin Development Fund for various community projects. Polk-Burnett can assist with the grant application process and pay up to 50 percent of the application cost.

Shell buildings

Polk-Burnett helps fund shell buildings to bring commercial and industrial businesses to our area.

Community assistance

Polk-Burnett assists communities in recruiting industry, analyzing prospective industry, and supporting local development corporations.

To help businesses considering a move to our area, Polk-Burnett provides statistical information about our area's population.

Community brochure funds

Polk-Burnett has funds available for area tourism and industrial brochures.

Technical assistance

Polk-Burnett provides free evaluations of energy use for new and existing homes and buildings, and offers building tips and techniques to save money and natural resources.

Scholarships

Polk-Burnett offers scholarships to graduating high school students whose parents buy electricity from the cooperative. Awards are based on a student's commitment to helping others. Applications are available in the fall of each school year.

Leadership training

Polk-Burnett co-sponsors workshops for area teens and adults to help build leadership skills and encourage taking a positive role in our communities.
