Poles and Wood Chips

Poles
Poles that are not re-used by Polk-Burnett are cut into sections that cannot exceed 10 feet in length. These are available for free on a first-come, first-served basis. In fairness to all, pole sections cannot be held or stockpiled for an individual.

Typically, used poles may be picked up at either our Centuria or Siren office from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Upon arrival at Polk-Burnett, you will first need to check in at the reception desk located at the front of the building. A receptionist will check to see if a yard employee is present and available to load poles for you. Individuals are not allowed in the pole yard area without a yard employee present. Polk-Burnett cannot guarantee availability of poles or that a yard employee will be available in all cases.

Before entering the pole yard and accepting any used poles, a Material and Equipment Waiver & Hold Harmless Agreement must be signed and you must acknowledge receipt of Material Safety Data Sheets for pole treatment. This is required each time used poles are taken.

If you need clarification or have questions, contact Polk-Burnett, 800-421-0283.

Wood Chips
Polk-Burnett sometimes generates wood chips when clearing trees from the rights-of-way. If you would like to add your name to our waiting list for chips, we may be able to bring a load to your property on a first-come, first-served basis when we’re cutting in your area. Chips are a mix of wood, leaves and pine needles. Availability depends on where cutting takes place and you must take a minimum of one full truck load, approximately six cubic yards. There are no guarantees, but we will gladly add your name to the list.
