2009 Youth Art Contest Entry Form (Print PDF form, complete and mail entry by January 5, 2009, deadline.)
Each year, Polk-Burnett is pleased to host its Art is Powerful Youth Coloring Contest for local students in grades 1 through 5.
The contest is fun, challenging and educational,” said Polk-Burnett's communications director. “It allows young people to express their creativity through color and design by drawing an original picture that demonstrates how electricity improves life at home or school. When children take the time to ponder this question, they realize the importance of electricity. It powers our homes, farms and businesses, our computers, alarm clocks, electric toothbrushes and blow dryers, our dishwashers and microwaves, our TVs and stereos, and of course, our lights when doing homework around the kitchen table. Quite simply, electricity powers the world around us, and Polk-Burnett believes art is a powerful way to express this ideal."
All contest entries received by the deadline are considered for prizes. Winners are named in each grade level and artwork is published on the website in the Youth Art Gallery (see below).
Annual contest entry forms are available each fall on this site. Contest entry forms can also be picked up each fall at Polk-Burnett offices in Centuria and Siren, and they are distributed to area elementary schools in early October.
